A pro-democracy student protest  in China’s Tiananmen Square in Beijing ended in bloody violence when the Chinese army was sent in to clear the square of protestors. Without warning, the army unleashed gunfire and tanks on the crowd, killing hundreds of protestors. President Bush condemned the Chinese government’s actions.
