Anne Firor Scott

Anne Firor Scott, W. K. Boyd Professor Emerita of History at Duke University, is the recipient of a 2013 National Humanities Medal for pioneering the study of southern women. She is the author of The Southern Lady (1970, 1995), Making the Invisible Woman Visible (1984), Unheard Voices: The First Historians of Southern Women (1993), and Pauli Murray and Caroline Ware: Forty Years of Letters in Black and White (2006).
