SUMMARY:Jim Crow and the Fight for American Citizenship\, 
 July 25–26 and 29–31 (Online Seminar)

 rview\n 	\n 		This seminar explores the rise of Ji
 m Crow in the United States and tracks it forward 
 to its modern post&ndash\;civil rights manifestati
 ons. Seminar participants will work with a range o
 f primary sources to interpret the shifting social
 \, economic\, political\, psychological\, and cult
 ural trauma associated with this set of racial pra
 ctices. Close attention will be paid to the effect
 s of Jim Crow on both sides of the color line.\n 	
 \n 		Modeled upon our highly praised Teacher Semin
 ars\, the course will make advanced credentials an
 d summer professional development a reality for te
 achers unable to spend days or weeks away from hom
 e&mdash\;and those who prefer to study from the co
 mfort and convenience of home\, or while on the go
 . This seminar includes live lectures by lead scho
 lars\, live digital pedagogy sessions\, pre-record
 ed guest lectures\, and a virtual field trip.\n 	\
 n 		Technical Requirements\n 	\n 		Participants wi
 ll be required to have a high-speed internet conne
 ction and a computer capable of viewing streaming 
 video.&nbsp\; Additionally\, participants will be 
 strongly encouraged to have a working webcam and m
 icrophone (or a webcam with a built-in microphone)
