 University\n 	\n 		Overview\n 	\n 		This seminar w
 ill explore a controversial era shrouded in myths 
 and memories. Among the topics it will examine are
  the presidencies of John Kennedy\, Lyndon Johnson
 \, and Richard Nixon\; the Civil Rights Movement\;
  the Vietnam War\; the New Left\; the countercultu
 re\; the women&rsquo\;s movement\; the gay movemen
 t\; the conservative movement\; the international 
 dimension of youth protest\; and the legacies of t
 he 1960s. The aim of the seminar is to provide a b
 alanced history of a turbulent time that continues
  to influence American politics\, society\, and cu
 lture.\n 	\n 		Modeled upon our highly praised Tea
 cher Seminars\, the course will make advanced cred
 entials and summer professional development a real
 ity for teachers unable to spend days or weeks awa
 y from home&mdash\;and those who prefer to study f
 rom the comfort and convenience of home\, or while
  on the go. This seminar includes live lectures by
  lead scholars\, live digital pedagogy sessions\, 
 pre-recorded guest lectures\, and a virtual field 
 trip.&nbsp\;\n 	\n 		Technical Requirements\n 	Par
 ticipants will be required to have a high-speed in
 ternet connection and a computer capable of viewin
 g streaming video.&nbsp\; Additionally\, participa
 nts will be strongly encouraged to have a working 
 webcam and microphone (or a webcam with a built-in
  microphone)\, for taking part in live discussions
