Genealogical history of the Jeffery family that traces the roots of the Jeffery clan from Devonshire England to America, including a fantastic story about one ancestor, Mr. Sylvester, who lived to "the age of one hundred and twenty." Galt mentions that the Jeffery's had been a military family of high standing in the British army for quite some time and were also "Jacobites." Additionally, provides the old link to the Archer family. Pencil inscription on header reads: "Written to my Aunt Annie Woodlief Jeffery by her father's first cousin William Richard Galt."
