Reads in full: "There has seven (7) gunboats & one skooner came in since yesterday eavening making in all twelve (12) gunboats & one skooner in site. Three gunboats & one skooner are lying at the mouth of Roanoak River. Two of the boats are chained together I think." Written at "Wiliams Fishery." Right edge of the document is torn.
