Telegram from Colonel Brown of the 13th Virginia (West Virginia) stating that he believes the troops are in trouble at Hurricane [Bridge]. Asks if he can send two companies to their aid, leaving one left at Point Pleasant. With autograph endorsement signed by Brigadier General Scammon saying yes and then send the S.B. [a ship?] on to Charleston, West Virginia. Asks how many Confederate forces are there and to keep him informed. On stationary of the U.S. Military Telegraph. Year inferred from similar documents in the collection and from Scammon's rank.
