Major Comly writes to Colonel Scammon, the commander of the 1st Provisional brigade, that he spoke with Colonel Rutherford B. Hayes to make arrangements for Hayes trip. Hayes thinks it advisable that Comly wait until he returns to go to Flat Top Mountain. Asks what should be done with McMullen's men and states he cannot relieve them to go back to Flat Top Mountain without orders. Written from Camp Pack, West Virginia.
