Written from the "Camp at V. Plankes Point," now Verplanck, New York. Asks Knox to request several artillery regiments to prepare for inspection on dates that he provides. Mentions that he has heard Charles Town [probably Charleston, South Carolina] has been evacuated and that New York might be as well. Adds that he hopes Knox's son Marcus gains strength [he had been ill].
