Expected to write this morning, but was interrupted by deputies of the "dutch patriots." While he was speaking to them he says he had a copy made of his letter to the General, possibly referring to George Washington, and has enclosed it (not included here). Asks him to communicate it to Alexander Hamilton. He has not written to John Jay as [William] Short has promised to do so.
