Knox received "yesterday by the post your favor the 18th instant with the sheriff's endorsement on the back of the order of the 1500 Dollars which you paid him." Knox also tells Davis, "I think you are more competent to decide the case of Tuckey than I am." Knox says Tuckey doesn't deserve the land if he was deceitful, but it a legal decision says he does, that must be obeyed. Letterpress copy.
