Bope writes to his parents from Catlett's Station. Expects a big fight in or near Gordonsville, Virginia. Says Union General George Meade will be there soon. Comments that Confederate General Robert E. Lee has 80,000 men. Expresses confidence they will "... whip lee if it is managed right." Mentions 30,000 new conscripts arriving. Discusses the upcoming election and his hope that John Brough will be the next Governor of Ohio.
