Forty-six cavalry troopers are posed in three lines, none of the men carry any weapons. Behind them on the right are sevearl tall trees that are missing all but their top branches. There is a large flaw just above the men on the left side of the image, a large brown patch surrounding a white circle. Inscription on verso: "Gardner." Numeric notations on verso: "XI-II"; "476"; and "476."
