Writes his wound has finally healed, but he has to walk with a cane. Tells Ogden that he has not yet heard from Perkins, that Charley Ely has been discharged, and that Eaton has been promoted to the rank of a first lieutenant. The letter continues under the date of July 10th. Mentions the closing of the Broad and Cherry Hospital, stating that "another war will inevitably brake out" against the surgeons if the hospitals are not reopened. Includes an embossed seal in the upper left hand corner. Envelope includes a three cent stamp.
