Notes he is finally feeling better. He drew his pay on the ninth of the month, but lost all the money on the same day while waiting at a depot in Cleveland. He now has only thirty-four dollars to keep his family over the winter. Requests more time to reimburse Ogden for the money she lent him, but tells her that he will borrow the money to pay her back if she is in desperate need of it. Envelope includes a three cent stamp.
