One letter from June Walter to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated December 14, 1943. June apologizes for not writing but she has been sick. She mentions Pearl Harbor, "Dec. 7, 1941. I sure do remember that day. You being here, our listening to the radio, and my nervous excitement or fit or something! It doesn't seem like 2 years ago." She inquires about his service rating, and how he has it before graduation. She asks if he has been having fun on his weekend leaves, and wants to know if he has met anyone. She mentions that Ernie is at home. He was transferred, and since his new ship was not ready they sent the crew home instead of housing them. She assures Leonard that she will continue to write even though she is engaged. She updates Leonard on a few friends; Bob Nye is a second lieutenant; Charlie Polleck is home; Pearl Green got married; Jenny St. Claire is engaged; Lois Horstick nee Rider is in New York with her husband. She asks after Robert Winemiller, as she hasn't heard from him in a while.
