One letter from Leonard Eugene Graeff to Susan Prowell Graeff and Raymond James Graeff dated January 18, 1944. Leonard reports that he just received a letter from Malinda that makes it sound like Susan is doing better. He admonished her to take it easy so not to get sick again. He just returned to the barracks after physical hardening. Today it was boxing lessons. He has been lucky so far not to be injured as he is just a little better then everyone he has been paired with so far. he does have a blister and bruise on his forehead from basketball the previous day though. He reports that Malinda is still having problems with her jaw. He heard from Tommy Gassert, he finished gunnery school and expects to start flying more now. He reports that Ediie Zell is expecting to be drafted soon despite his 4F status. There is talk of all the men being drafted despite their status and the ones unable to do regular duty will be put on desk duty to free up others. He mentions the possibility of an admiral conducting an inspection on the base the next week.
