Front Cover of Eulogium on the Life and Character of William Wilberforce, Esq. Delivered and Published at the Request of the People of Color of the City of New York, Twenty-second of October, 1833 by Benjamin F. Hughes, (A Man of Colour.) The New-York Historical Society.

Written by the African-American principal of a New York City school for free black children, this sixteen-page eulogy attests to the heroic status of Wilberforce among black Americans of the nineteenth century.
