Convicted of robbing a mail coach and its passengers; sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. Pardoned after serving 3 years and 6 months of his prison term due to his frank confession of the crime and his returning of the stolen property, and because of his precarious health. (c/s Thomas F. Bayard)
