Lesson Plan 1: High School



This lesson will fulfill the following NCHS National History Standards:

Era 6: The Development of the Industrial United States (1870-1900): Standard 2: Massive immigration after 1870 and how new social patterns, conflicts, and ideas of national unity developed amid growing cultural diversity.

Standard 3: The student engages in historical analysis and interpretation.

Era 6: The Development of the Industrial United States (1870-1900) Standard 2A: The student understands the sources and experiences of the new immigrants.


Lesson Plan 4: Elementary School



This lesson will fulfill the following NCHS National Standards for History:

Standard 5: The causes and nature of various movements of large groups of people into and within the United States.

Standard 5A: The student understands the movements of large groups of people into his or her own and other states in the United States now and long ago.
