Resolution of the Massachusetts General Court and the Governor, Samuel Adams, to investigate and discover "disorderly and evil disposed persons" planning to take up arms and cause destruction as part of a rebellion in certain counties (likely referring to counties on which Knox had land; Knox asked the Governor for help and protection from these people in GLC02437.06630). Offers a reward for the apprehension and bringing to justice of any of the offenders, including Samuel Ely. Signed by Phillips, as President; Samuel Adams, as Governor; Edward H. Robbins; and one other party whose name is illegible (but all signatures appear to be written in the same hand as the document).
