Since the Gilder Lehrman Institute launched its new website in April 2012, we have heard some great stories about how educators have used Home for History to support classroom learning. We also know that many teachers and schools are already using our resources in their classrooms. Our primary source documents, in particular, are being used to teach a range of critical thinking and writing skills in English language arts and history classes.
Tell us more! We offer twenty $500 awards to teachers in our Affiliate Schools who show innovation and excellence in using Gilder Lehrman resources in their classrooms. Top submissions are posted on our website so that these best practices can be shared with other educators.
Applications must be received by December 10, 2013.
The awards can be used for classroom enhancement, professional development, or even trips to historical sites for you or your students. Explore our website now to see what materials are available for classroom use, including:
- The Gilder Lehrman Collection
- Podcasts and videos
- Articles by leading historians
- Online interactives
Be sure to complete your application for a $500 award! Twenty awards will be made in 2013–2014
