2005 Research Projects


Each student researched the correspondence of a Civil War soldier held in the Gilder Lehrman Collection. In addition to preparing an inventory of the previously unexamined letters, they each developed educational materials focusing on a particular theme that ran through their soldier’s correspondence, incorporating a scholarly introduction and transcriptions of letters that illuminated that theme. The soldiers included:
