Sherman informs Mallet of his son's visit to Charleston and asks that he befriend him and pay the small balance he owes to him. Mentions receiving a letter from Mallet and thanks him for the information it contained.

My Son John is going a Voyage to Charleston in South Carolina and will probably come and see you. [illegible] incline to enter into some benefits there [illegible] he return if he should I doubt not but you will please to pay him, as far as you can without prejudice to your own interest you will pleasure to pay him the small balace of eleven pounds [illegible] shillings lawful money due to one and his receipt Shall be your discharge -- I received your lesster by the Post and am obliged to you for the information in contains
