Andrew Jackson adopted his wife's nephew and named him Andrew Jackson, Jr. Sarah Yorke, his wife, was the president's daughter-in-law. Emma Yorke Farquhar Donelson married Jackson's nephew Thomas Jefferson Donelson, Andrew Jackson, Jr.'s twin brother.
