At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. Summary of Content: Writes about preparations for his last trip to America. Accompanied by a separate leaf signed "M. Jacob" stating that the letter is "to my great great great grandfather Joseph Pike." A merchant in Cork, Ireland, Pike was an old Quaker friend.
