Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Chapter from a book regarding daughters of the American Revolution. This chapter names Martha Babcock Noyes as having had ancestors who contributed to the cause of patriotism. Family members dating from Reverend William Noyes, who was born in the sixteenth century, are listed, including James Noyes, Anne Hutchinson, Joseph Noyes, and Thomas Noyes. Chapter has been photocopied.
