Writes "Christmas is not very far off now, & I hope before that time they will allow us to receive boxes from home."

My dear Mother,
I have not received a letter from you this week, I suppose you have been very busy waiting on Aunt Henrietta, & hope by the time this reaches you, she may be better. Enclosed I send you my photograph. I had 6 of them taken, & will send them by letters at different times. We are having very pleasant weather now, very mild for Dec. Christmas is not very far off now, & I hope before that time they will allow us to receive boxes from home. Please send me a little chewing tobacco at the first opportunity. Best love to Father, Uncle George, & all the rest & believe me as ever, Your affectionate son,
Edward H. Hall
