Informs Colonel Wadsworth that William Richards, commissary of stores at Litchfield, Connecticut, intends to retire (malpractice charges were filed against Richards, see GLC02437.01110). Richards hopes to be able to remain in Connecticut, and Shaw solicits Wadsworth's recommendation on Richards's behalf. Written at camp near Dobbs Ferry.
Wadsworth was also from Connecticut. He served as a Continental Congressman in 1788, and a United States Representative (1789-1795).
