More than 70,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World to soldiers’ letters from World War II and Vietnam. Sutlers include Simon Richards, William Foot, James McMasters, Asa Spauldin, Samuel Warrin, Roger Magrath Gatsey, Mrs. Current, John Andrews, William Adams, Aaron Thompson, Able Boyington-Dunlap, Ezra Eaton, John Sullivan, and Mr. England. Licensing authorities include Generals [Alexander] McDougal, [William] Heath and [John] Paterson, and Colonels [John] Crane and Shephard [possibly William Shepard].
