Informs that the British will begin evacuating New York soon. Mentions the evacuation of Kingsbridge, Fort Washington, McGowan's Pass, New York City, Brookland (Brooklyn), Paulus Hook, Staten Island, and De Neices (Denyse's Ferry in Brooklyn). Advises Hull to ready his men and states that George Washington, Governor Clinton and himself will arrive soon and may need quarters. Post script states that a small party of Hull's men will be left in Westchester.

Dear Sir.
I am sorry that I am obliged to limit my supplies, to stocks hose, and shoes, but with these I hope you will make a tolerable appearance
The british will evacuate Kingsbridge the posts at Fort Washington, and as far as Mc Gowans pass [inserted: and as far as Herriks [sic] in long Island] between eight and nine on the 21st instant. The City, and Brookland the next day, and Paulus Hook, Staten Island, and de Neices [sic] soon after as possible -
If your men are not collected You will collect them, and Leave every thing in readiness by the 20th - There will be a corps of artillery and some peices [2] and the 1st and 4th Massachusetts regiments go [inserted: in] with you. His Excellency the Commander in Cheif [sic] Governor Clinton, and myself will be down [struck: probably] on the 19th or 20th, and we may probably rely some what upon you to point out some quarters for us.
