At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Discusses the order that the Albany hospital is to be closed, which he was not aware of, and the lack of firewood for the patients. Also reports back to Knox about his preparation for closing the hospital. Young signs as hospital physician. Noted as sent "By Express" and on "Public Service."
