Has enclosed a letter from Mr. Thomas Fitsimmons. Asks Knox for a "favorable subscription," a confirmation of Glasbeech's service and monetary relief. A note written at a later date on the top of the document misidentifies Glasbeech as the "Baron de Glasbeck." See GLC02437.04208 and GLC02437.04210 for related documents.
According to Francis B. Heitman's Historical Register of Officers of the Continental Army During the War of the Revolution, Glasbeech was a volunteer aide-de-camp to General Daniel Morgan, and was brevetted captain in the Continental Army 9 March 1781 due to his meritorious service at the Battle of Cowpens.
