Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Discusses issues with the Waldo patent and mentions the Winslow family. Also sends along news of her own family, a daughter and husband Richard. Appears to be Knox's sister-in-law.

Hannah Flucker was a sister of Lucy Knox. She married for the first time to James Urquhart circa 1774, and then was divorced. She married a second time, to Richard Harwood, circa 1788.
