Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Enclosed with a broadside with GLC02437.05093.01. Advertises the work to be published by Tatham. Says the analysis covers each state and "shewing the extent and relative Situation of the several Counties." It will be continued annually. Says three copies are to be published in French, German, and English. Note written by Tatham says "A Copy hereof fild in the Office of the Federal Court as the Law Directs."
