Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Discusses his family and their health and setting up a business. Also asks for news about Knox and his family as well as Beaumez's stepsons and complains that he has never received a letter from them.

B. Beaumez, the husband of Sarah Lyons Flucker Beaumez, is most likely Bon-Albert Briois de Beaumez (also spelled "Beaumetz"), a travelling companion of Talleyrand and former President of the French National Constituent Assembly.
