Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Agreement between Knox and Life Wilson. Wilson will take care of the saw mills, grist mills, locks, and canals in Warren County. Wilson is also in charge the employees of the these mills. They agree to split the shares of the grist mill. Knox agrees to pay Wilson $25 a month for his services.
