Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Mentions he had the pleasure of seeing Knox's family on his way to Boston, Massachusetts. Notes another trial will be held and discusses a particular judge. States the judge has always been a federal and "does not approve of the new order of things so much, I imagine, as yourself ." Asks Knox to write to [David] Cobb and seek his advise on the situation.
