Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Bond discussing land proprietorship and mortgages. Signed by Edward Hutchinson, among others, with Thomas Flucker and [Hezekiah ?] Brown as witnesses. Also includes two notes. The first note is from Daniel Henckman, verifying the above and dated 13 August 1744. The second is a note of receipt dated 16 August 1745 by Ezekiel Goldthwait.
