Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Resolution by a General Court committee regarding lands given originally to Beauchamp and Leverett but now perhaps part of the Waldo patent. Authored by Phillips, Wells and Dane as members of the committee. Read and accepted by the Senate and approved by the Governor. Attested as a true copy by John Avery, Secretary.
