At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Written on White House stationery. Nessen was Ford's Press Secretary. Date from later typewritten note of Nessen's Secretary, with note by Nessen. Ford was a Michigan alumnus and former football player.

Mildred Leonard told me yesterday that Bill Fleming who is doing the Ohio State - Mich. game wants to talk with me at half time. I said okay. I don't recall who contacted her.
