Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Clarke informs Livingston of the arrivall of several Palatins, and discusses the need to find a way to settle all of them. He provides an update on the supply of tools and provisions, mentions a land dispute that he is engaged in, and begs that Livingston send him a requested account. Docketed on address leaf.
