The image shows General Marcy seated with his arms crossed. He is looking to his left of the camera, and there is a table with a book behind him. Inscription on recto: "Handy Photographer, 494 Maryland Ave., S.W., Washington, D.C." Inscriptions on verso: "Genl. Marcy" and "Special."
