My Dear wife & Baby,
I will drop you a line this beautiful afternoon to let you know I am back in the
U.S.A. once again and well as usual and hope these few lines find you all in the best of health.
I sent you a telegram yesterday when I arrived on the dock and no doubt you have it by this time.
We came over on the U.S.S. Santa Ana. and we sure did have fine weather and good lots. We sailed from Bassens France on April 23 and arrived here May 5. we were a good while on the water but then we were headed for home and did not mind [2] it so much.
Believe me you can hardly imagine how anxious I am to get home to my wife
and baby.
We were told this morning that we would be here about two ore three days and then
we would go to Camp Mead Maryland where we would be mustered out and I hope that will be tout sweet.
I have been through the [illegible] twice won and I don't think there is any chance of me having any when I get home. Ha Ha.
We went through one in Genycart France and then we went throug another here
this morning.
[3] How is all the folks?
There is quita change here since I was here on our way over. It was
all tents then and now it is all two story barracks and looks more like a town
The 77th division is having a parade in New York today.
Well Dear as news is not to plenty and I have been so busy I have not had a chance to find out what is going on I will close for this time and tell you all when I get home.
Hoping to hear from you real soon and be with you in a very few days I am with lots of Love & Kisses to you all Your Devoted hubby C.B.L.
