Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Printed by Amos Hadley, State Printer in Concord. Creator is the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who was directed by the state government to publish the debates. State debates between the vetoing governor and the House on allowing soldiers to vote in absentia. First edition. Original wrappers with stab-stich binding.
