Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Contains several articles on federalism and the Constitution, including a printing of Federalist No. XIII from the Federalist Papers. Also reports news from Europe and around the United States. An article also appears on the Gallo-American Society. Of the many advertisements, one has been clipped out of p. 3.
