One engraving entitled "Battle of Murfreesboro - Capture of a Confederate Flag" dated 1863. Depicts hand to hand combat between Union and Confederate forces at the Battle of Murfreesboro, July 13, 1862. On the left, a jeering solider straddles a cannon while raising his hat into the air. In the background two opposing soliders struggle over a Confederate flag. Engraved from an original painting by Alonzo Chappel in possession of publishers at time of engraving. Engraver unknown.
