Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Diamond tells Estelle that twenty two of the men are in the hospital with severe colds. He also explains that if he changes during his stint in the army, it is because he is forced to for the protection of his men. Sidney describes a trip to the museum of the mines.
