Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Sylvia comments on the good news from Moe that he has had a 2 month "stay." He may have a furlough coming up and she assures him she'll get the money he needs to come home. Says the best present she could have for her upcoming birthday would be to hear his voice; but he should reverse the charges.
