Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Written at 11:30 [PM] at home. Sylvia is very happy Moe called her on her birthday. Wanted to tell him not to worry about her. She was happy they got to say "I love you" to one another. Suggests he end his letters with a greeting for friends/relatives who live in various places so she gets a hint as to where he is being sent.
